In the last days

I don't seem to be able to get away from the words, "in the last days". I don't mean to be apocalyptic, nor am I ready to pick up my sign saying "the end is near!", but I am convinced that we are in the last days.

2 Timothy 3:1-2 (KJV)
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Paul wrote to Timothy about these unsettling times. Paul said they would be PERILOUS times. The greek word literally means, fierce, furious and dangerous.

Paul continues to list a lot of character issues that define the people of the last days. The first one stands out to me. Men would be lovers of their own selves. It seems to me that many today love themselves more than God, more than family, more than their fellow man. It is unsettling to see so many who know exactly what sins they are committing, but simply do not care. They love their sin, more than being right with God.

When the Lord came the first time to planet earth, he sent a messenger to prepare the way by preaching REPENT!

The Lord is coming again! There is a fresh call for REPENTANCE that is sweeping the land right now. A call is going out to saint and sinner alike. "Get your hearts ready!" "Get your spirits ready!" "Jesus is coming!".
